Peppermint Shot Glasses

I made these super cute peppermint shot glasses for Christmas! They're so easy to make and add a cute touch for any holiday.

Materials Needed:

  1. Peppermint candy (individually wrapped green and white mints work great)

  2. Silicone shot glass mold

  3. Cooking spray or butter (to prevent sticking)

  4. Oven

  5. Baking sheet

Steps:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Preheating ensures even melting of the candy.

2. Prepare the Silicone Mold:

  • Lightly grease the inside of the silicone shot glass molds with cooking spray or a small amount of butter to make it easier to remove the candy later.

3. Arrange the Candy:

  • Unwrap the candies and place them into the silicone molds. Arrange the candies in a single layer at the bottom of each mold, ensuring they fill the base. If the molds are taller, you can stack candies.

4. Melt the Candy:

  • Place the silicone mold on a baking sheet for stability.

  • Bake the molds in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the candies melt and fill the mold. PRO TIP: About half way through the baking time check to ensure the top of the mold has enough candy, if it doesn't add more

5. Cool Completely:

  • Remove the mold from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature, or speed up the process by placing them in the fridge or freezer for 20–30 minutes.

6. Remove the Shot Glasses:

  • Once cooled and hardened, gently pop the candy shot glasses out of the silicone molds.

8. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Use the shot glasses to serve chilled drinks, like vodka, peppermint schnapps, or a dessert drink. You can also use them for non-alcoholic options, like a festive milkshake or hot chocolate (serve immediately with hot drinks to avoid melting).

Tips:

  • Monitor Melting: Keep an eye on the candy in the oven to prevent it from bubbling or overcooking.

  • Decorate: For extra flair, drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle crushed spearmint candies on the rims.

  • Storage: Store the shot glasses in a cool, dry place until ready to use. Avoid humid environments to prevent them from becoming sticky.
